Maverick Awards – 2027 Entries Open
Entries for our fourth annual Maverick Awards are open! We profile outstanding projects and companies / individuals in, or supporting, sustainable building in the Built Green Community.
Updates to Awards Program
- NEW Breakthrough Category—for those new to Built Green who have made a sustainability breakthrough: these achievements are what Built Green was created to facilitate. Eligibility is contained to builders, renovators, restorers and developers who have become a member within the last two years and certified their first project with Built Green Canada.
- UPDATED Nomination Forms—these updates make entering even more straightforward: reducing the amount of written answers and providing specific prompts to ensure your submissions are clear and concise.
Our Categories
- Ambassador Award recognizes those on the ground, encouraging and promoting sustainable building.
- Breakthrough Award recognizes those new to Built Green and new to sustainable building practices—it celebrates progress—whether small steps or large strides.
- Innovation Award recognizes new ways sustainable building is driving innovation and progressing industry.
- Transformational Award recognizes the impact sustainability practices can have in driving change, with a clear before and after.
If you’re an individual / organization that meets the criteria—or you have a project that does—submit for your chance to be one of the exclusive four profiled as a Maverick! You can also nominate someone else.
Our Maverick Awards take a non-traditional approach in that they don’t culminate with an event. Rather, winners are announced in March, followed by the roll out of our integrated marketing campaign, including a series of assets about our winners that inform our marcom activity. The creation of these is also intended for the winners’ own promotional efforts. We’re focused on putting a spotlight on our four Mavericks!
