Ecoplast Solutions Inc.
Ecoplast Solutions Inc. is a manufacturer of affordable, energy-efficient, composite buildings made from recycled plastic bottles.
The homes and buildings are constructed using structural insulated panels (SIPs) made from 100% green PET foam (polyethylene terephthalate), a foam manufactured completely from recycled plastic beverage containers. This provides a much-needed waste diversion from landfills by upcycling post-consumer recycled plastics into strong and sustainable building materials.
This innovative new process creates an airtight building envelope that eliminates thermal transfers anywhere across the wall surface area and delivers advanced energy performance with high insulating R-values. Unlike traditional building materials, the panels are impermeable to moisture absorption and prevent degradation of the structural and insulation properties. The SIPs are laminated together creating a monolithic building, eliminating the need for framing, separate insulation, siding or shingles.
Ecoplast Solutions Inc. uses a patented process and is the sole producer of the product in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia.
BUILT GREEN® Checklist HD 2.1.6 & SF 1.2.5 – Structural Insulated panel system (SIPS) or other panelized construction systems are used for walls (3 points) and/or roofs (2 points). SF 7.1.4 – Products used for home are manufactured within 800 km of build site (1 point for each products- maximum 5 points). *Can be claimed, depending on where project is located. HD 7.1.10 – When building in winter, builder uses best-practice cold-construction techniques to minimize energy wasted during construction (e.g. manufacturing components indoors). |
